As the brethren walked to the group prayer meeting that began at 6:30am, they were greeted by golden rays of sunshine that peeked through the woods surrounding the beautiful place where this session is being held. Once again, the brethren were reminded that the mercy of God is renewed every day. The presence of the Lord could be felt anew during the prayer meeting.
Br. S.R. Ramos conducted the morning worship. He spoke about the value of a soul. He asked if anyone knew the market value of the most expensive gem. A huge amount of money was paid for this very expensive gemstone—it’s value was close to 8 million US dollars. “But how much is the value of a soul? You and me,” he asked.
The true value of a human being is evaluated by Jesus.
“Those who are finally victorious will have seasons of terrible perplexity and trial in their religious life; but they must not cast away their confidence, for this is a part of their discipline in the school of Christ, and it is essential in order that all dross may be purged away. The servant of God must endure with fortitude the attacks of the enemy, his grievous taunts, and must overcome the obstacles which Satan will place in his way.” Lift Him Up, 241. 2
“The Saviour longs to manifest His grace and stamp His character on the whole world. It is His purchased possession, and He desires to make men free, and pure, and holy. Though Satan works to hinder this purpose, yet through the blood shed for the world there are triumphs to be achieved that will bring glory to God and the Lamb. Christ will not be satisfied till the victory is complete, and “He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied.” Isaiah 53:11. ” The Desire of Ages, 827.4
Brethren, in our ministry we have to understand the true value of a soul. Once we understand the true value of the soul we will have more success in our ministry. The decisions we will make today will be affected by this for we know that every soul is bought with a precious price.
“But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee,I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.” Isaiah 43:1
