This glorious day started again with a season of prayers and meditation on God’s word. The morn-ing worship started with the singing of the hymn entitled “The Great Physician Now is Near.” The opening text was taken from the book of Mark 1:21:
“And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the syna-gogue, and taught. And they were astonished at his doctrine:for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.”
The title of the morning worship was “The Man of Calvary”. One Sabbath day, Jesus went to the temple to worship. Satan went there too but with a different purpose. His purpose was to disrupt the people listening to Jesus’ teaching. […]
At 6:15am this morning, different brethren from various units wished each other good morning and the Lord’s blessing as they walked to the meeting hall where all joined together in prayer meeting. This 20 minutes prayer session is a great privilege and blessing to all.
This morning, Br E. Custodio took the morning worship and spoke on the topic “Christ Died for All”.
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:” 1Peter 3:18
“Today we are free and independent because of the death of Christ,” said Br. Custodio. Christ is the One who gave Himself as a Sacrifice […]
Another week started with a prayer meeting during which an inspiring thought was shared by Br. O. Nasui. The question was asked ,as many of us approach the end of our stay here in the United States, “What would be the best gift we can take home to our loved ones?”
“To love as Christ loved means to manifest unselfishness at all times and in all places, by kind words and pleasant looks. These cost those who give them nothing, but they leave behind a fragrance that surrounds the soul. The effect can never be estimated. Not only are they a blessing to the receiver, but to the giver; for they react upon him. Genuine love is a precious attribute of […]
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4:6
How wonderful it is that we have this privilege to come to the throne of grace with all our requests and thanksgiving. We have much for which to thank the Lord. We have experienced His guiding hand during this General Conference Session, and this is why the prayer meetings in the morning are the best part of the daily schedule.
Morning worship started with the singing of hymn “I Need Thee Every Hour”. How true are the words of this hymn; without the Lord, we could not exist without His sustaining grace. Br. Jeyasingh D. spoke about the […]
As the brethren walked to the group prayer meeting that began at 6:30am, they were greeted by golden rays of sunshine that peeked through the woods surrounding the beautiful place where this session is being held. Once again, the brethren were reminded that the mercy of God is renewed every day. The presence of the Lord could be felt anew during the prayer meeting.
Br. S.R. Ramos conducted the morning worship. He spoke about the value of a soul. He asked if anyone knew the market value of the most expensive gem. A huge amount of money was paid for this very expensive gemstone—it’s value was close to 8 million US dollars. “But how much is the value of a soul? […]
The day began with morning worship lead by Bro. Anatolii Mariceanu, the Union President from Moldova, who began by thanking God for His great goodness toward us. God, in His great love, keeps our hearts beating, so that we can experience God’s wonderful love and forgiveness and praise God as Jeremiah did when he said, “Thy mercies are new every morning; Thy compassions, they fail not.” Though our first parents failed, God has made it possible for us to be redeemed and restored. Though the angels were willing to give themselves for our salvation, only Jesus’ sacrifice could make it possible for us to be saved.
Throughout history, man has misunderstood how he can be saved. Cain didn’t realize it was […]
It is a wonderful experience to begin the day united in singing, praying, and sharing God’s Word with the brethren from all around the world. The Bible text from Psalms 133:1 says, “Behold how good and how pleasant for brethren to dwell together in unity.”
The presence of the Lord could really be felt this morning as the delegates gathered for prayer meeting early in the morning followed by morning worship. All joined their voices in rich melodies as they sang the Hymn “Nearer my God to Thee”. Br. P. Brovchenko delivered a touching message entitled “Surrender to Christ”. He spoke concerning the experience of Peter who, before his conversion, was spiritually unstable and often would run ahead of the Lord […]
The days are really flying by as the delegates are engaged in the various work aspects of the session. Prayer meeting was again the highlight of the morning. The brethren gathered into groups of two or three and joined together in quiet prayers.
Br. D. Ivanov presented a very interesting presentation for the morning worship, entitled “Spiritual and Physical Maladies Healed”. He spoke about the human body and how marvelously it was created. He emphasized the power of the brain as being the “Boss of the Body”. “This has a very important spiritual lesson for us,” he mentioned. The brain is the one that listens to the voice of the Creator; it has the capability to sympathize with everyone in need. […]
After a blessed Sabbath day full of encouraging messages, experiences, a variety of praise items, another work day began early with a group prayer meeting. The brethren gathered in groups of two or three in order to together send their prayers to the throne of grace, pleading for the presence of the Lord and the guidance of His Holy Spirit throughout the day.
Br. A. Gessner conducted the morning worship. He began with the passage from 1Peter 5:7-8. “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
“There is no need for anyone to be anxious about the toils […]
Another day started with a group prayer meeting at 6:30am. Brethren from various units came together to pray for wisdom and guidance in the work to be done for the day.
Morning worship was conducted by Br D. Dumitru and he spoke on the topic “Love and Justice harmonised.” He pointed out that believing in Christ and receiving His transforming grace is not guesswork, but a work which causes Christ’s virtues to be reflected in mind and character. He also appealed to the delegates to make a full surrender of their will to the will of God and accept His plan for us.
The business of the day
The session began at 9:00am with a song from the “Reformation Hymnal” entitled “O […]
The third day began with a special prayer session at 6:30am The brethren gathered together in small groups to search their hearts and to plead for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the business of the day.
Morning worship began with a favorite from the Reformation Hymnal, “Living for Jesus.” Br. Marcos Pedrazas discussed the importance of fixing our eyes on things unseen and eternal, rather than the temporary things of this earth. Br. Pedrazas emphasized that our circumstances may become dark and mysterious in our Christian walk, but if we look upon things unseen and eternal, we have the blessed assurance that “all things work together for good to them that love God.”
