The General Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement has chosen to host the 2015 General Conference Session at its headquarters in Roanoke, Virginia.

Roanoke, Virginia

Roanoke is a city of just under 100,000, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia. Situated in a delightfully scenic natural area, Roanoke is well known and appreciated for its beauty and serenity.

A Bit of History . . .

The year was 1984. After many months of prayer and searching, a scenic property was secured in Roanoke County to serve as the office facility and lighthouse for the Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement General Conference, an international movement of faithful believers that seeks to uphold the principles of God through the strength and power of Jesus Christ. Originally founded in 1925, this organization has stood the test of time.

Now, for the past 30 years, it has been a blessing to be able to call Roanoke "home". In 1995, the attractive headquarters building was constructed on an adjoining parcel, and the brick house that had been the main building began its role as a parsonage for visiting ministers. Then in 2004, another adjoining parcel was acquired, bringing the total to about 15 acres. Surely we can heartily declare, "Hitherto hath the Lord helped us" (1 Samuel 7:12).

In order to fulfill our mission, we need more space. In order to get the space we need we need your help.

Your help is needed to complete the 2014 Roanoke GC Building Project.

Now it?s time for significant expansion. The present headquarters facility with its tiny sanctuary has been outgrown and our involvement has developed around the world, so there is a heightened need to represent more effectively the Lord?s work both locally and abroad. As a result, the proposed building plan recognizes the following half-dozen goals to meet a comprehensive need:

  • Expanded conference facilities?particularly to host the general delegation of believers scheduled to assemble in 2015, but also having long-term community and global benefits
  • Expansion of our offices of publication, to spread light out of darkness worldwide
  • Educational facilities for the presentation of training seminars and eventually a missionary school for higher education
  • A state-of-the-art media studio on premises, to share the light of the everlasting gospel to a much wider audience
  • A simple wellness facility to bring health and comfort to people in need
  • An onsite chapel to serve as a house of prayer, that the name of the Lord may be glorified.
